Manta

The Big story of our trip was our encounter of the Giant Manta Rays. These creatures treated us to a phenomenal show. They also allowed us a once in a life time experience to enter their world for a brief moment. They allowed us to get very close to them, touch them and even let us ride them. These magnificent animals would slow down and wait for us to catch up. Once we held on to their back dorsal fin they would take off. They would give us a tour of their playland and then bring us back to where we started and would allow us to get off and they would then wait for someone else. Many of us received 4, 5 and 6 rides each. At one point we had 5 or 6 of us on one Giant Manta. We all certainly felt very insignificant to their giant size. Definitely an experience of a lifetime.

Diving Fun

While the rest of Michigan was cold and snowed in we left for Puerto Vallarta January 26, 2004. It so great to fly into Puerto Vallarta at night and be sweating in our Michigan cloths. We had some excellent weather and we got 13 dives in that week. I look to post a dive log of this trip along with some profiles. We even had time for a group photo at 110 feet at the mouth El Morro.

More Pictures

We have more underwater picture located here. We also have some land bases picturs of Surrounding Puerto Vallarta.

Bull Fight Several in our group were able to attend a real Mexican Bull Fight. While it was educational to see, they would not want to attend them regularly. One of the photographers are the Bull fight started drooling over a rather appealing senorita. Hey Glen did you ever get her name?

Jellys (82Mb) Our illustrius dive dive Peggy made it to Truk last year. She had an amazing dive with a flock of jelly fish. I pieced a lot of the video together into a short film called Jellys. This is rather large, right click and save as. It is 82 meg.
